Send Your Fair Queen Application For Fort Bend County’s Fair

The annual Ford Bent County’s Fair is getting close and the Fair Committee is accepting applications for Fair Queen until June 13th. The winner will receive a scholarship and the opportunity to serve as a County Ambassador.

Girls from age 15 to 19 living in Ford Bent County can participate in the contest. (The Committee did specify that by girls they mean registered as a girl on the birth certificate) The guidelines to choose a winner from the 20 girls’ first filter are a personal interview, an essay, and a networking event and participation.

The requirements to be the Fair Queen are several, some of them include not having any criminal records, not drinking or smoking, abstaining from showing public affection to boyfriends, and not having “unseemly” or offensive photos on their social media.

Once the queen is elected, she will be indicated what to wear: dresses with fingertip length or longer, boots, and jeans are recommended. She cannot carry piercings or visible tattoos. It is prohibited to wear shorts and sandals, according to the Fair page.

The Fair queen that will be elected on September 23, will have many duties during the County’s fair. She will be attending several livestock shows and auctions, as well, she will represent the county at Holiday gatherings and other events.

Jennifer Williams, fair co-director said about the contest “Our Fair Queen Scholarship candidates really go through a rewarding experience. The committee does an outstanding job with these young ladies,”
