Trever Nehls Announces Run for County Judge

There is at least one confirmed challenger to incumbent Fort Bend County Judge KP George for the upcoming November election.

Republican Trever Nehls, twin brother of U.S. Rep. Troy Nehls, has decided to raise his hand and run for the county’s top elected position in 2022.

Nehls had been teasing about running since last June, so the announcement was not unexpected.

“The outpouring of support and encouragement has truly been humbling and heartfelt,” reads the statement on his campaign website. “While I was planning to make an announcement at an event on Sept. 9, I have decided to reschedule that event given the situation with COVID. Today, I am excited to formally announce that I AM IN for Fort Bend County Judge.”

Nehls served two terms as the Fort Bend County Precinct 4 Constable and lost the run for county sheriff to Democratic nominee Eric Fagan in 2020.
