Man Arrested In Fort Bend for Killing His Girlfriend Six Years Ago
A 33-year-old man named Johnny Minh Dang was arrested on December 8 by the Fort Bend Police Department. Minh is accused of killing his girlfriend six years ago according to ABC.
The body of Minh’s girlfriend, Lorraine Diaz, who at the time was 21 years old, was found on January 11, 2017. The body was found by the police in a burning car that was located in a rural location off FM 762 in Richmond, south of George Ranch High School. She was allegedly shot to death by Minh, who from the start was the primary suspect of the crime but hasn’t been arrested because there was not enough evidence to incriminate him.
During the last weeks, the Fort Bend Police Department was able to raise more information about the crime, which led to the arrest of Minh. “This was an especially brutal murder of a young woman,” said FBCSO Detective Scott Minyard to ABC. “I am extremely thankful for the diligent efforts by detectives originally assigned to this case and our Texas Ranger partners, Ranger Pete Luna and Ranger James Wilkins.”
He remains in custody at the Fort Bend County Jail on a $500,000 bond and is charged with first-degree murder. Additional charges are expected.
